THE best event of the year at the Gold Coast will be the revamped annual motor racing carnival which now become a three-day SuperCarnival’, with all the excitement and adrenalin of Australia’s V8 Supercars.
They will race in a 600km competition over two days, and there will be a radical new endurance race with world-renowned drivers. This will be the 19th year that the Gold Coast has hosted a motoring spectacular, with the event annually attracting thousands of visitors who revel in the action, both on and off track. So stay at Maldives Resort at Main Beach and walk to all events and have a quiet night at the end of an exciting day.
Nightly entertainment will feature international music acts, while the infamous pop girl ‘ Pink’ has been recruited as the face of the V8 Supercar series. Love that girl, how’s that for getting publicity.
The new Broadwater Park will be transformed each night into an entertainment precinct, with major concerts featuring Australian and international acts. All within walking distance of Maldives Main Beach Accommodation.
The V8-only race will see the track size slashed by almost half, and ticket prices will also be slashed, this will make it more affordable for so many people.
We can all get a chance here to really prove that this event in its 19th year can go up several pegs,” said V8 Supercar chairman, Tony Cochrane, he deserves the support of all the locals, residents and businesses alike.
Mr Cochrane, whose `rock and race’ concept took off last year in Sydney with the reformation of Cold Chisel, is confident the exciting off-track concerts and endurance race, which will team high-profile international drivers from a range of disciplines with Australian teams, will attract an international audience.
The fleet of legendary cars and drivers will go on constant display in a free public pit area, with autograph sessions across the weekend. So bring books and felt pens and lots of Jackets and your ear plugs to retain all those petrol driven memories for years to come.
